I'm here to tell you that I'm writing a new FREE computer application for building your lego model on PC.

If anyone interested in that, here you can find some videos to show what you can do.

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=xSergio74&view=videos

You get the whole application for FREE at http://staff.polito.it/sergio.reano/

If no one intersted, than I apologize for boring you

Regards

Buon giorno!  ;D (I got to say that I used google.translate to know how to write it, cause I just knew how to say it!  ::))

First of all, thanks for sharing your work! It looks interesting! And at the beggining I was just wondering what would make your program different/better than the others, then I read this:

Citar
New exclusive MirrorBuilding features  for quick build of symmetric models. MUST TRY !!

...and it convinced me!!  ;D Some time ago, I was building a symmetric house and you can imagine the problem that was trying to make it!!  :P

I'll definitly try your new program! But it won't be soon..... Though it will be as soon as possible! ;)

Good luck and keep it geeting better!  :-)d

Hi, and welcome to our forum! :D

We already knew SR 3D, it was discussed before on another topic.

Personally, I think it's a great program with a great concept. I was really impressed by those videos, especially the animations and moving parts.
Unfortunately, I still don't have much experience with it, but I will consider using the program next time I create a digital model.

Keep up the good work, and thank you for your visit! ;D

Hi Sergio, good work.

I try an early version and this seems much better. Now I'm busy with our next event, but I'll take a better try later :)

Is cool you be here, so you can help if we need :)

I've dowloaded and installed the all-in-one package, and the program doesn't even start. When I tried the first versions, I had the same problem, but I ignored it (due to other problems I had at the time). Now, I don't have those problems, but the program doesn't even start.
Any tips?

Be sure to download and install latest DirectX driver from Microsoft official site.
This usually solves this startup problem. Hope it works also for you.

I tried it and I'm pretty happy with the results. at a first glance, it clearly combines the practical display that LDD offers with the more professional-like controls and features of MLCad, while adding some nice new touches. it's cool :-)d

I loved the dynamic grid. It has a lot of potential when building SNOT models, as it saves the time to figure out some less-than-ideal angles.

Hi,

happy you like it!!
I'm going to use the definition you just coined about the grid ('Dynamic Grid' sounds really good) in the manual

After I downloaded all the latest version of DirectX, it appears the following error:

"Some files or folders are missing: please remove/rename lDraw folder and reinstall aplication"

Of course, and reinstalled again and again, and then again, and it still appears the same error. I've tried to installed the parts on different locations, I still haven't tried one thing (and I don't want to, unless it's really necessary): installing the parts folder in my Ldraw folder (I don't want to ruin)

Hi,

Try doing the following:
- uninstall SR3DBuilder
- rename your existing lDraw folder to somewhat else (__lDraw for example)
- reinstall SR3DBuilder leaving default value

It should work now.

If you are unsatisfied of your new Lego editor then
- uninstall SR3DBuilder
- Delete your current lDraw folder
- Rename previously renamed lDraw folder to its original name
You are back to the pre-SR3DBuilder installation

Anyway:
- I know the issue you talk about and will be fixed in the next release
- Installing my application in default lDraw folder over an existing installation doesn't hurt anything (I tried it)

Hope this help you to solve

Since my Ldraw folder is in C:\Programas\Ldraw, and the default value for the SR Builder library is C:\lDraw , I had already tried that a few days ago, and it didn't work (but I tried again today, and, without surprised, still didn't work).

In that case, I'm looking forward to the new version  ;D. Thanks for the help  :)

SR 3D Builder 0.4.56 sneak preview
« Responder #14 em: 11 de Novembro de 2009, 11:56:00 »
Hi everybody

here I'm again to say that my application is not died!!!!

It takes  a really long time to rewrite the animation engine to allow new, more complex functionality.

And here is the result.

Have a look to this new video to have a feel of what you can do now.

New release will be available in late November 2009

see you

Sergio
