Fokker Dr.1 was World War I German triplane fighter. Thanks to his legendary pilot, Manfred von Richthofen, the plane has become a worldwide popculture icon.
It is said that Baron von Richthofen, ace of German Air Forces ordered to paint his plane red, so that vivid color would break the enemy pilot's morale (who was afraid to meet such a "killer" in air).
I had a LOT of fun with this model. I hardly made it and I had hardly enough red bricks... But this is what I love our BTT contest for - it sometimes forces you to build something completely different than you used to.
Model measures 36 studs, has a wingspan of 35 studs and weights 1/2 kilogram. I am most proud of the wings. The hold really well, I can swoosh the model around and nothing falls off. I had some troubles with engine and wheels ("standard" wheels dod not looked ok).
